Silkworms

WE SHIP THESE WORMS OUT AT IN BETWEEN 3/8"-1"

Reptiles consuming silkworms engage in a fascinating and nutritionally beneficial dietary practice. Silkworms, the larvae of the silk moth (Bombyx mori), serve as a valuable source of protein, healthy fats, vitamins, and minerals for various reptilian species. This feeding behavior is prevalent among reptiles such as bearded dragons, geckos, chameleons, and certain snake species.

Silkworm cups come with silkworms, chow and material for them to climb on. These cups are designed to
be stored upside down with the food on top so that the waste falls down for easy cleaning. Silkworms can
grow fast when kept at room temperature up to 80 degrees, often
doubling in size nearly every week.
The food can last up to 2 weeks for 20 silkworms when kept at room
temperature. To slow the growth of the worms you can keep them cooler (60 degrees) which may extend
the life and food by an additional 1-2
weeks. If it's too cold the worms will stop eating and die.
Silkworms are a great feeder for a variety of reptiles and very hard to find! We have a limited number of
silkworm cup available each week. Due to the silkworm batch rotation we have the sizes will vary from
small (3/8”) to slightly larger (1”).  At 1” they grow fast and become more hardy.

If they reach 2-3” in length they are at the size to begin spinning a cocoon and will fall to the bottom
of the cup. You may need to purchase additional food if you want them to reach this size.

If mold starts to grow in the cup, carefully remove it so that it does not spread. The mold is usually caused
by excessive moisture.

WE SHIP SILKWORMS OUT MONDAY-THURSDAY FROM OUR LOCATION IN OHIO VIA USPS (3-5 BUSINESS DAYS) AND FEDEX/UPS 2DAY.

Used as a super hydration feeder!

Our Silkworms have a healthy nutritional content of 54% protein, 43% far, calcium 0.5mg/kcal. Since Silkworms have no chitin or exoskeleton (the hard shell) they are easy to digest and there is no worry about impaction in your juvenile reptile pets.
